Werkset Etiquette: Ownership & Collaboration
Werkset is built on respect for creative work, authorship, and collaboration. These guidelines exist to help portfolios stay accurate, relationships stay healthy, and credit stay where it belongs.
Project ownership matters
Only create a project if you are the rightful owner or primary publisher of that work. Contributing to a project does not automatically give you the right to post it as your own.
Credits are not ownership
If you worked on a project that you did not own, you should be credited on the original project rather than creating a separate post for it. Credits exist so collaborators can be represented without misattributing ownership.
Use collaboration tools properly
If a project belongs to someone else, request to be added as a collaborator or credited through Werkset’s collaboration system. This keeps projects connected, accurate, and respectful of everyone involved.
Respect unreleased and restricted work
Do not post work that is unreleased, under NDA, or client-restricted unless you have explicit permission from the project owner. Werkset is meant to showcase work responsibly, not prematurely.
Avoid duplicate or misleading projects
Reposting the same project under multiple owners fragments credit and misrepresents authorship. Each project should have one clear owner, with collaborators properly credited.
When in doubt, communicate
If ownership or permissions are unclear, ask first. Respectful collaboration starts with transparency and consent.
Building Your Portfolio
Your Portfolio
Your Werkset is a single, beautiful page that showcases your work. Here's how it's structured.
Hero Section
Your photo, name, job titles, bio, and availability status. This is the first thing visitors see.
Brand Logos
Display logos of clients and companies you've worked with. Builds credibility at a glance.
Project Feed
Your work, displayed beautifully. Each project can have videos, photos, audio, descriptions, and credits.
Contact Section
A built-in contact form so clients and collaborators can reach you directly.
Your portfolio URL is werkset.app/yourusername. You can change your username anytime in settings.
Adding Projects
Werkset supports three project types. Choose the one that best fits your work.
Video
Embed from YouTube or Vimeo. Add up to 6 videos per project.
Photo
Upload image galleries. Perfect for photographers and visual artists.
Audio
Upload audio with waveform player. Great for composers and sound designers.
Every project includes:
On-Page Editing
No complex builders or separate admin panels. Edit everything directly on your portfolio.
Enter Edit Mode
Click the 'Edit Page' button that appears when you're logged in and viewing your own portfolio.
Click to Edit
Click any text, image, or element to edit it. Changes appear instantly as you type.
Reorder Projects
Use the position control to move projects up or down in your feed.
Publish
Click 'Publish' to save your changes. They go live immediately.
Changes are saved as drafts until you publish. If you make a mistake, click "Discard" to revert.
Collaborations
Credit the people you work with. When they credit you back, their projects appear on your feed.
How it works
Search for collaborators
Find users already on Werkset, or invite someone new by email.
They receive an invite
An email is sent asking them to accept the credit on your project.
They accept the collaboration
Their name links to their Werkset profile once accepted.
Your project appears on their feed
They can toggle visibility in their dashboard.
For project owners

For collaborators
- • Accept or decline invites
- • Toggle "show on portfolio" per project
- • Reorder credited projects in your feed
Credited projects have a gold accent line on your portfolio to distinguish them from your own projects.
Visibility & Privacy
Control who can see each project with flexible visibility settings.
Public
Visible to everyone. Appears on your portfolio and in search engines.
Direct Project LinksPremium
The project is visible on your portfolio, but you can also share a direct link that takes visitors straight to that project on its own dedicated page.
Private LinkPremium
Hidden from your public portfolio feed but accessible via a private direct link you can share with specific people.
Password ProtectedPremium
Hidden from your portfolio and requires a password to view. Ideal for NDA work, client previews, or projects you only want specific people to access.
Hidden
Completely hidden from your portfolio. Only you can see it in your dashboard. Hidden projects do not count against the free project limit.
Direct Project Links, Private Link, and Password Protected are available on Werkset Premium.
Brand Logos
Show off the clients and companies you've worked with.
Upload logos of brands you've collaborated with. They appear in a clean row below your bio, building instant credibility with visitors.
Dashboard
Manage your account, view insights, and handle collaborations from your dashboard.
Insights
See how many people are viewing your portfolio, where they're coming from, and your top referrers.
Projects
Manage all your projects in one place. Change visibility settings, reorder your feed, and update project details.
Collaborations
See all your incoming and outgoing collaborations in one place. Accept or decline credit invites and remove yourself from projects you no longer want to be credited on.
Connections
View all the people you've collaborated with in one place. See their profile info, job titles, and quickly reach out via chat.
Chat
Message your connections directly within Werkset. Sometimes you're not in direct contact with everyone you've worked with. Werkset makes it easy to discover and reach out to collaborators from your projects.
Messages
View and manage messages from your contact form. Mark as read, reply, or delete.
Assets
View your storage usage and manage all your uploaded assets—photos, audio files, client logos, and more.
Account Settings
Update your email, password, username, and manage your subscription.
Access your dashboard anytime at werkset.app/settings or click "Dashboard" in the menu.
